The History of Urad

URAD (or Leathermate as it's known in the US) first began operating in Italy in 1954. It was started by the Giovanni & Orlando Di Daru (Daru spelled backwards is Urad). The company's early years focused on products for the Italian footwear industry. About 20 years later, the company created a range of products for domestic use and now produces a range of finishing products for the footwear industry as well as a range of leather cleaning and maintenance products.

Urad is now also found in many countries around the world including Canada, Taiwan, Morocco, The Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, United Kingdom and Greece

Urad and Leather Mate are only for use with smooth finished leathers and should not be used on suede.
